NARRATOR: With blowgun in hand, a Witoto tribesman returns from a hunt, carrying his quarry. The father is the head of this small Witoto community, which also includes his sons, their wives, and any unmarried children.

Native peoples, like these Witoto of eastern Colombia and Peru, make use of a wide variety of products from the forest.

But, as is true of many rainforest peoples, they are no longer isolated from the outside world, and their future will be different than that of previous generations.
