Explore the Balkans' natural resources and agriculture, mountainous interior, and rich cultural diversity

Transcript

NARRATOR: The Balkan Peninsula borders on two seas, the Adriatic and the Black. Both coasts are lined with many beautiful beaches.

In between, the interior is mostly mountainous.

Though the peninsula is rich in natural resources and agricultural products, attempts towards industrialization and modernization have often been unsuccessful.

It is a region of many cultural heritages and religious traditions, with both European and Asian influences.

The coexistence of these many heritages has never been easy or harmonious.
